Repentance: The Sins We Tolerate and the Freedom We’re Missing

Play episode

What does true repentance really look like? Is it guilt, shame, or simply trying harder? In this message, we continue our series on the Holy Spirit and the order of salvation by exploring the Spirit’s role in leading us from conviction to repentance.

Through Scripture and practical examples, we discover that repentance is not about condemnation, but about responding to God’s love and grace. The Holy Spirit softens our hearts, convicts us of sin, and empowers us to turn away from sin and return home to the Father. Repentance is not punishment, it is an invitation to freedom, healing, and restoration.

This sermon also challenges believers to examine culturally accepted sins that often go unnoticed, including pride, gossip, anxiety, political idolatry, lack of hospitality, and self-sufficiency. Jesus has opened the prison door. The question is: will we walk out and come home?
